INFORM TECHNOLOGIES JOINS MEMBERSHIP OF AMERICAN BUSINESS MEDIA, TRADE ASSOCIATION OF PUBLISHERS AND INFORMATION PROVIDERS
New York, NY – October 15, 2007 – Inform Technologies, whose technology platform is designed to enhance traditional media brands, has joined American Business Media (ABM), a leading association of business media and information providers.
“It’s great to be a part of the association whose members we serve,” said James Satloff, CEO of Inform Technologies. “Our technology and offerings are geared toward enriching online media properties and helping them leverage their own content and archives, providing a more compelling experience for their readers and developing new opportunities for ad revenue.”
ABM’s 300 members include a number of Inform clients, including Crain Communications, IDG, MedTech Publishing Company and Red 7 Media.
Inform Technologies is a new technology solution for established media brands that automatically searches, organizes and links content to provide a rich, compelling experience that attracts and retains readers. Inform’s artificial intelligence and natural language-based technology uses proprietary rules and algorithms to scan millions of pages of content and identify topics and articles that are similar and relevant to each other. Based on these relationships, Inform creates links within online articles that provide one click access to new, automatically generated topic-specific pages, pulling together articles, videos, blog posts and other content on a given subject.
By providing these links, Inform is able to create a more compelling media website, engaging visitors to spend more time using it. This can result in more readers and more page views, and thus more revenue, as well as a better ability to compete effectively with search engines and other sites.
Said Gordon T. Hughes II, president & CEO of ABM, “We welcome innovative companies like Inform whose technologies are helping to transform our industry and improve media companies’ abilities to compete and provide superior reader experiences.”
About Inform Technologies
Inform’s technology platform works like an editorial team: It continually teaches itself how information is related and automatically updates links and topics as the context changes. For example, the software is capable of learning that “Sooner” means something different in Oklahoma than elsewhere, and can then create Sooner-specific Oklahoma football pages. The resulting links are both deep and meaningful, and help transform a website from a series of static pages into a dynamic, “living” information hub that remains up-to-date in response to breaking news, developing trends and readers’ changing interests. Importantly, pages that Inform generates automatically will appear in searches, driving more readers to the site.
Inform’s Connected Content Solution™ and Essential Technology Platform™ are used by major media brands including WashingtonPost.Newsweek Interactive, Crain’s, IDG, Conde Nast, The New York Observer, The New York Sun and over 50 others. Inform was founded in 2004.
